My new toy - a Panasonic Lumix FZ7

Comic #128 is right below this post but I had to show off my new toy :-)

Bloghopping

KomixKreate is an artist and he has created this site called indiancomics.blogspot.com which has illustrations of comics he has worked on. Look at it and if you have any good concepts, maybe it will be the birth of a new online comic!!! Don't miss this site. And encourage him so that his enthusiasm is back to give us some great comics.

Check out http://phorum.thedan.org/ They like us so much that they want to steal some of us ;-) And it's a great forum so don't miss it :-)

This is not a comic site but take a look at it just for how well it has been designed. Fantastic design. Loved it.
Cutting The Chai

Your contributions and encouragement has helped keep TCP alive and hit the first anniversary. Take a look at Keep Those Games Alive by our very own cloudy and send her some ideas that she can post :-) Doesn't matter how crazy or childish the game is, cloudy is fantastic at making it super interesting.

Also check out a new site called My Heroes by TCP contributor Sunshine. She talks about her heroes, one of them being a certain Mr.Robertson.

Update

This is another nice comics site - by Pradyot - The Graduate Comics Newly started and I wish it a long run :-)

And as IP says "Tereko naya khilona mil gaya. Ab usi ke peeche pada rahega" (You got a new toy. Now you will only be behind that)

Hi...
Came here from KomixKreate's site. Nice blog. I am interested in cartoons too. Cartoon strips, more specifiacally. I started making them a couple of days back and would like your feed back. Also, if you know anything about tablets please pass on the wisdom (I scan my drawings right now and am thinking of getting a tablet). My site is http://www.thegraduate.com/

@Tin tin: "Sunshine on a cloudy day" ... Nice! :-)

@TCP: Nice toy! Start a photo blog? Show us what you look like!

@Johnny: You didn't answer my question :-(

And... Third!

Johnny Hotwire said...

@cloudy: I usually use adobe Photoshop. However, You can also do a lot with Microsoft word itself by using line draw, autoshape (like I use balloon to write dialog) etc. Nothing-special software as such. I am planning to buy a tablets so I can directly draw on my computer using Pen. I even don't have scanner right now here so cannot scan my drawing, which I started doing recently after around 10-12 years. I usually do portraits but learning to do caricature and cartoon. I have never taken any formal training and don’t use any thing special (not even oil paints) I use whatever tools I get handy, pencil color, calk, doodle, ordinary pen and paper. And usually do not keep my paintings etc (never took it seriously). By the way what was your question anyway? As usual I brag about me whatever I liked and did not even go through your question so don’t take it seriously.

@pradyot: following tablet seems to be good
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BVB2FK/ref=pd_cp_title/102-6263240-5308925?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=172282
but little bit costly.

TCP,
That's a great toy you've got there.
Thanks to the mention in your bloghop, I am getting so much encouragement, I think I may go back to my comic-drawing table any moment. Only waiting for the elusive publisher / distributor who can support the project financially...

tcp: nice toy, but I would have expected some technical specs-shecs to show-off, you know :-)

Sunshine said...

I'm 5th.

@TCP: Thank you so much for mentioning my humble blog site in TCP :-)

@Tin tin:'Sunshine on a Cloudy day'
:-)

@johnny hotwire: Thanks. Am planning to do that soon. I have had the camera for almost 2 days now and not taken any snaps except of the Lumix box :)
@shubham: Thanks :) showing off hehe but I love my toys. Expensive habits
@tin tin: nice one on sunshine and cloudy day :-) I would have never gone for an iPod if my Karma had not died last year. iPod is good but its the cool looks that scores more points than the performance itself.
@pradyot: checked out graduatecomics and it is soo hot that you are on the bloghop
@hp: I am not a good photographer but since I spent a bomb on this, I'd better learn. Will post interesting snaps.
@cloudy: How about "TCP Photos"? that way, the comics and photos can be kept separate though I want to have a single site. Too lazy to manage two.
@johnny: the strip was really cool. you should collaborate with komixkreate
@anonymous: Apparently it has some noise issues (all panasonics in fact). What's your experience been like? I bought it because I wanted good zoom, great IS, and a fast camera (not because I am a pro but because I hate to wait between shots). The reviews are not that flattering.
@komixkreate: I understand that it is difficult to start off a venture like yours without finances but kick it off because when one does something like what you do, even the disappointment of not being able to do it is worth it. We are with you, finances i dont know but you can spare 30 minutes a day can't you :-) and start a twice in a week strip.
@obi wan: spot nana lol. Can't forget that movie...Pratibandh right? It had that weird Juhi Chawla song too dont recall what. Left the specs out because I don't understand most of it myself lol - except its 12x optical zoom, 6 Megapixels, uses SD cards
@sunshine: you're welcome tiny star

Thank you for the wishes and the link.

For someone who is totally and utterly addicted to his camera, that is one lovely new toy you have there :-)

I am dying to know what TCP & IP look like. Can we hope to see some photos of TCP & IP, from the new toy....?

@KomixKreate

Dont wait for the elusive publisher ... just start off ...

The satisfaction of doing what you wnat to do in itself is a great reward ...

I myself never knew that untill i did what I wanted and discovered ...

As far as as comics are convcerned .. visit arbitmba.com for inspiration :-)

Just Do It !!
(Not the visit ... implementing your dream .. hehe)

Nice new toy, mine looks like a pygmy before this one but it I really go shutter-happy.

Thanks for the mention, I dodn't realise the design was worthwhile - until the appretiation started to flow in.

ichatteralot said...

Welcome to the world oof (digital?) photography! Its addictive - you'll shoot dew on leaves, pollen dust on flowers, cats whiskers, a drifting snowflake ... zoom opens up a lot of possibilities. Just dont do a self potrait!

The Comic Project said...

@pradyot: you're welcome Pradyot and thanks for the permission to syndicate the graduate comics :-) Let it be known to one and all, that TCP was the first to syndicate the Graduate comics..yayyyyyyyyyyy
@dan: The only feature I understand in a camera is the CLICK button (shutter button?) I hope I can make good use of the (hefty) investment
@net_asterix: That's a mystery :-) IP is worth photographing. TCP not at all.
@shoooonya: good example of arbitmba :-) That should be motivation enough
@soumyadip: What camera do you use because your photos are greatttt!!
@chatterbai: that was a hit below the belt ;-) I'll take a snap of the balding spot on my head and post it. It's one of the worst things that happened to me since the glasses at 13, pimples between 16-18 and the graying hair at 19. At 22, the best thing happened - but it had nothing to do with my physical attributes :-)

Sketchy Self said...

This is hilarious -- The last comment on the Anniversary post was by an actual spammer!! Check it out, guys :D

Cloudy said...

@Sketchy: LOL... spammer it is!

@TCP: What happened at 22?

Sunshine said...

@TCP: :D lol - now, real spammers are trying to compete with us!!

And like cloudy asked, what happened at 22?

TCP must've met IP at 22!

Obi Wan said...

Time to run the 'What happened at 22 contest' guys. A mysterious statement by the even more mysterious TCP has started tongues wagging at this blog. What could it be? Was it TCP meeting IP for the 1st time? Was it TCP meeting someone better than IP(at that time) for the 1st time? Was it TCP seeing Chupke Chupke for the 1st time? Was it TCP eating his first Alphonso??? What could it be??? Entries invited from all and sundry, including random spammers. The best entry wins a cool pic taken with TCP's new toy :-)

TCP,
I have started work on my new comic, and I am looking at the possiblity of opening a new website exclusively for my comics. Yours and Johnny Hotwire's suggestions were very helpful.
Meanwhile, I have started to upload in my blog, one of my earlier comic series called V2, meant for teens and young adults. Thanks to your mention in your blog, I was overwhelmed with encouraging comments, and now I am back in my comic workshop. Thanks.

@sketchyself: saw that. Will let him be there ;-)
@obi wan: That just like the Diamond Comics program on Sunday ... Aakhir Rajan ne Iqbal se kya kaha? Iqbal kyon dara? Kya Rajan ko pata chal gaya tha ke Iqbal ne laal colour ki chaddi pehni thi? Jaanne ke liye padhiye - Rajan Iqbal aur Iqbal ki Chaddi ;-) And Please translate for sunshine. I find it hard to believe I wrote this!! And sketchy self wins ;-)
@cloudy,sunshine,sketchyself,obi: Yep. It was IP at 22 and it's been one hell of a ride since then :-) Good God!!!! I forgot something.
@sketchy self: A photo from the new toy will be dedicated to you :-)

Obi Wan said...

All right, tcp, tum bhi kya yaad karoge(what will you remember?) Here is the translation for sunshine:-)
Afterall, what did Rajan say to Iqbal? Why did Iqbal get frightened? Did Rajan realize/find out that Iqbal was wearing red coloured under-pants? To find out, read Rajan-Iqbal and Iqbal's undies!!!

Next time tcp, do your own translation :-)
